Settings and account

Everything on this page is per account, stored in the database, and applies wherever you sign in. Instance-wide configuration lives in environment variables instead.

Settings has a section nav down the left (a swipeable strip on mobile): Account, Registration (administrators only), Preferences, Appearance, Calendar feed, API tokens, Webhooks, Data.

Your username is fixed after registration and shown read-only.

Change password asks for the current one and the new one twice. An account bootstrapped by an administrator has no password yet, so it sees Set password instead, with no current-password field.

Passwords must be at least 8 characters. There is no maximum and no composition rule.

Type your username to confirm. Deletion cascades: your projects, tasks, labels, filters, comments, attachments, reminders, tokens and webhooks all go, and collaborators lose access to projects you owned.

One guard: an administrator cannot delete their own account while other accounts exist. Appoint or leave another administrator first. The last remaining account may delete itself, which reopens first-user bootstrap on the next registration.

Setting Default What it affects
Name empty Display name in the sidebar. Falls back to your username.
Profile photo none Sidebar avatar. Any image up to 5 MB.
Timezone UTC What “today” means. Drives Focus, Upcoming, Calendar, quick-add dates, Completed and Stats grouping.
Date format yyyy-MM-dd yyyy-MM-dd, MM/dd/yyyy, dd/MM/yyyy or dd.MM.yyyy.
First day of week Monday Calendar grids and the Stats activity graph. Monday or Sunday.
Daily goal 5 Tasks per day. Drives the Today panel and both streaks on Stats.
Activity graph Completed tasks What the past-year graph counts.

Timezone is the setting that matters most. Conatus stores due dates as plain calendar dates and resolves “today” in your zone, so getting this wrong shifts every date view by a day.

Option Counts
Completed tasks Completions only. Matches the streak and daily goal above the graph
Completed and created tasks Also counts capturing work, not only finishing it
All activity Also counts comments and new projects

Un-completing and deleting are never counted under any option, so a day cannot get greener by reversing itself.
